Meet Jessy
My journey in the literary world began at 14 when I received a writing award, sparking a lifelong dedication to storytelling and writing. I hold a BA Honours in Psychology from York University, where my studies also ventured into creative writing and English. My academic path continued with a Social Service Worker Diploma from Loyalist College and a Master’s in Social Work from Windsor University, providing me with insights into human behaviour and emotion that enriched my writing and editing skills. I have contributed to program evaluations, business templates, academic manuals, and website content at Queen’s University.
My commitment to professional growth is ongoing, involving regular participation in workshops and staying abreast of the latest trends in writing and editing. My entrepreneurial spirit is demonstrated in my self-publishing journey. I successfully self-published my debut novel, “The Adventures of Izzy Adams: Descending into Darkness,” which draws inspiration from my daughters and personal experiences. This project was a comprehensive endeavour where I crafted my book trailers, developed a media kit, and established a robust social media presence. Additionally, I have created and managed two websites, showcasing my digital marketing and content creation skills.
I enjoy travelling. I've backpacked through England, Ireland, and Scotland and spent a month in Chile with the Mapuche people for a student placement.
I'm a parent to four amazing children, which is the central part of my life. I like crafting with my kids and attending their extracurricular activities with them.
In addition to family life, I enjoy reading, writing, gardening, and continuing my education.
